APBF Championships
APBF Championships, known as Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Championships (Previously Far East Federation Championships), is the zonal championship for Zone 6. It is
categorized into Open Team, Ladies Team, Senior Teams, Youth Team, and Youngster Teams.
For odd-numbered years, APBF Championships is the selection berth for World Bridge Team
Championships (Bermuda Bowl and Venice Cup). In the year of Summer Olympics, there will
be APBF Congress, while in the year of World Cup, there is APBF Championships. Starting
from 2010, APBF Championships was replaced by Asian Cup (to be held every 4 years),
which will include Zone 4, Zone 6, Zone 7 NCBOs to join.
Normally, trial for the Hong Kong, China Teams will be held for APBF Championships and
Asian Cup, if there are more than 1 team registered, whilst there can be more than 1
team from each NCBOs for APBF Congress.
In the past years, Hong Kong, China has won the Far East Federation Championships in
1960 and 1975, and the Pacific Asia Bridge Federation Championships in 1987.
